01

Where they started

A clear idea and a name with a meaning: a creator platform built around artists keeping what they make, launching before the product was ready to show.

The site’s job was to make the idea real to people now, and start a list of the artists who wanted in.

product: not built yet
needed: a public face, a list

02

What I pulled from it

Ownership. The name sounds like kept, and everything on the page is built around artists keeping what they make.

The brand went loud to match: heavy display type, a night sky and one lime.

Their type and sky.

03

The signature

A waitlist they own. Sign-ups go straight into KPTD’s own database, not a mailing-list service, so the list belongs to them from day one.

The domain and business email came first, so the company sends from its own address.

What I decided, and why

  • Sell the idea, not features. The page describes what’s coming without promising anything that isn’t built, so nothing has to be walked back at launch.
  • Set up the foundations first.Domain and business email came before the page, so the company sends from its own address and owns its accounts from day one.
  • Keep the waitlist in their hands.Sign-ups go straight into KPTD’s own database rather than a mailing-list service, so the list belongs to them.
